Daily Puzzle Games Like Wordle — for Logic Lovers
Love your daily Wordle? Here are other free daily puzzle games worth adding to the routine — word, logic and deduction games — including a daily murder mystery.

Wordle made the daily puzzle a ritual: one puzzle, the same for everyone, a few minutes a day, and a result you can share. If you've got the habit, here are other free daily games worth adding — with a bias towards logic and deduction, because that's what we love.
We make one of them (marked below).
Word games
- Connections (The New York Times) — sixteen words, four hidden groups. The perfect companion to Wordle.
- Strands (The New York Times) — a themed word search where the theme is the puzzle.
- Waffle — a grid of six interlocking words you fix by swapping letters, in a limited number of moves.
Number and geography games
- Nerdle — Wordle with equations instead of words.
- Worldle — guess the country from its silhouette; distance and direction hints guide you.
Logic games
- Queens, Tango and Zip (LinkedIn) — short daily grid logic puzzles that have become a lunchtime habit for a lot of people.
- Clues by Sam — a daily deduction puzzle: work out who in a grid of people is a criminal and who is innocent, one clue at a time.
A daily murder mystery: Room for Murder (ours)

Every day at midnight there's a new case on this site: a cosy top-down floor plan, a handful of suspects and one victim. Each suspect gives one statement ("She was beside the piano", "He was alone with Ada"). Place everyone — one per row and column, nobody on solid furniture — and the person who was alone in a room with the victim is the killer.
- Gentle on Monday, devious on Sunday — when the killer's statement is a lie
- Exactly one answer, checked by a solver, no guessing needed
- Shareable, spoiler-free result card, streaks, badges and a daily leaderboard
Room for Murder Daily
A new floor-plan murder mystery every morning: place the suspects, find who was alone with the victim. No sign-up, works on phones.
Play today's caseBuilding a daily puzzle routine
- Pick three: one word game, one logic game, one wildcard. More than that and it becomes a chore.
- Same time every day — coffee, commute, lunch.
- Share with one friend. Comparing results is half the fun of daily games.
- Don't break the streak, but forgive yourself when you do.

Daily games are snacks. For a whole evening of deduction, try a printable murder mystery case file or a puzzle book — see our list of games like Murdle.
We make the games mentioned in this guide — that's why we know them well. Links to Etsy go to our own shop, Midnight Motive.
