Room for Murder: Thanksgiving

90 brand-new floor-plan mysteries in Cranberry Hollow — harvest suppers, church bake sales, a turkey trot and one very long Thanksgiving dinner. Every case is a two-page spread: the suspects on the left, the plan on the right. Perfect to solve between courses, or to give to the puzzle lover at the table.

Who makes this?

Room for Murder comes from Midnight Motive, a tiny independent studio that makes printable murder-mystery party games and puzzle books. Every floor plan, armchair and suspect on this page is drawn by our own code — and every case is run through a solver that proves it has exactly one answer you can reach by logic alone. No guessing, ever.

Questions

What is Room for Murder Daily?

A free daily murder-mystery logic puzzle. Each case is a floor plan with a few suspects and one victim; place everyone using their statements, one person per row and column, and find who was alone in a room with the victim.

Is it free?

Yes. There is no account, no ads and no cookies. A new case appears every day at midnight in your time zone, and every earlier case stays in the archive.

How hard is it?

Monday cases are gentle 5×5 plans; they grow towards Saturday's 7×7 houses. On Sundays the killer lies, and you have to work out who.

Does every case have one answer?

Yes. Every case is checked by a solver to have exactly one solution that you can reach by logic alone, without guessing.

Can I play on paper?

Yes. Use Print this case under the statements, or get the Room for Murder book with 80 more printable cases.

How to play

  1. One per row, one per column. Every suspect was in one square of the floor plan, and no two of them share a row or a column.
  2. Mind the furniture. Nobody can stand on solid things (tables, plants, shelves, the piano…). Chairs, sofas, benches, beds and rugs are fine — the key under the plan shows both kinds.
  3. Believe the witnesses. Each statement is true. Beside means the square directly next to it (not diagonally); north is up.
  4. Find the killer. The victim was alone in a room with exactly one other person. That person did it.
  5. Sundays are devious. On Sunday the killer lies: their statement is false, everyone else's is true.

Controls

Tap a suspect, then tap a square to place them. Tap them again to pick them up. Use Notes (or right-click / long-press) to cross out squares you've ruled out. Stuck? Hint places one suspect for you.

Monday is gentle; it gets trickier towards the weekend.
